Course Levels

The school in San Sebastián teaches eight levels of courses, from beginner to advanced. To find out your level a placement test is arranged on the first day of your course.

You have no knowledge at all, or only knows a few words or an occasional expression in Spanish.

You can express basic information with simple structures. You can use the present, past and future tenses.

You can carry on group conversations. You are at ease in everyday situations, can communicate using the indicative and know several subjunctive forms.

You can communicate effectively in different social situations, using and understanding different styles of spoken language (e.g. formal language).
You know of and can use the main grammatical structures in Spanish.

You are able to communicate in almost all the different types of situations. You can understand and speak in all the styles of Spanish and know all of its different grammatical structures.
