Tests & Credits

National French Test, TCF

The TCF is given at specific centres in France and in the rest of the world on certain dates each year.  In Chamonix the test is organised each April. The test is optional and not included in our ordinary course program. The structure of the TCF test is similar as the English equivalent TOEFL and is a good "extra" proof of your language skills if you plan to work in France, in a French speaking country or with an international organisation. The price is approximately 75€.

Certificates

Weekly and longer courses / semester programs

During your course you will take a number of tests and when the course is finished you will be given a certificate that summarises your results. All students receive a certificate of attendance indicating the level of French they have acquired. At the end of the course you will be given a certificate with a summary of your results.

University credits

American credits and ECTS

Students who wish to receive American credits for our programs should contact the study abroad office or the language department at their college or university prior to starting the program and ask for detailed requirements on how to arrange credit in advance. With the detailed information from your home campus, we can typically provide all documentation needed to complete the arrangements.

The European credit transfer system (ECTS) is a method that is used to compare the marks given in education across the European Union. One academic year corresponds to 60 ECTS credits in all countries irrespective of standard or qualification type and is used to facilitate transfer and progression throughout the EU. The ECTS system also has a multi-grade scale as a complement to the different countries' individual grade scale.
