Before You Go
Passport and Visa
All students must bring a passport and if you are from outside the EU you must also obtain a visa before you come to Europe. If you intend to stay less than three months you need a tourist visa and if you stay for more than three months, a student visa. Contact the French embassy in your home country for more details. Usually you must enclose our confirmation of your enrolment when applying for a student visa.
Insurance
We strongly recommend that all students and tenants take private travel insurance covering their whole stay abroad. This insurance should cover illness, accidents, theft of valuable belongings and personal liability. The insurance must be arranged at home before you go. Our recommendations are also to make sure your insurance covers cancellation or inability to finish your course.
The E128 Form or European Health Card only applies if you are an EU citizen. With this form or card you will have the same right to emergency treatment as the people who live in the country. Your local social security office usually issues these documents.
