Student Activities

Insted arranges a number of activities throughout the semester. This is a perfect opportunity to practice French, explore Chamonix and its surroundings and also a chance to get to know the other students better. 

Activities include:

    •    Avalanche and glacier rescue course with UIAGM mountain guide Pelle Bagewitz
    •    Excursions through the Mont Blanc tunnel to Courmayeur, Italy
    •    Chamonix Rally: a race around Chamonix aimed at improving your local knowledge
    •    French movie nights at the school
    •    Visits to interesting companies within Chamonix
    •    Visit to the Alpine Museum of Chamonix, and other museums in the area
    •    Day out to Annecy known as the "Little Venice" of the French alps
    •    Visit to a vineyard by lake Geneva
    •    Winetastings
    •    Fondue-and raclette dinner
    •    Indoors climbing nights
