Getting There

Here you find information on how you travel to your destination.

Chamonix

You can travel to Chamonix either by plane, train, bus or car. Most students fly to Geneva airport and take a shared transfer bus to Chamonix. We recommend that you book a shared transfer in advance. There are many private transfer companies which offer trips from 25 to 40€ one way. The driver will meet you at the arrival hall and take you to your accommodation (travel time 1h 15 minutes). You can also book a seat with the regional bus company that operates between Geneva airport and Chamonix on daily basis. A one-way ticket costs approximately 32€ and the estimated travel time is two hours. The timetable is available at the SAT Mont Blanc website

You can take the train to Chamonix. Visit the French train company SNCF for more information and booking.

Biarritz

You can fly to Biarritz, or to Bordeaux and take the train from Bordeaux to Biarritz (travel time 1h 30 minutes). You can also take the train to Biarritz. Visit the French train company SNCF for more information.

San Sebastián

There are three nearby airports to San Sebastián: Fuenterribia, Biarritz and Bilbao. You can take the train from each of these aiports to San Sebastián. Insted also offer students transfers from the aiport at reasonable cost. Contact us for more information.

Tenerife

There are two airports in Tenerife. The international aiport, Reina Sofia, is located south close to Playa de las Americas. The other airport, Los Rodeos is on the north part of Tenerife. Travel time to Puerto de la Cruz from Reina Sofia is 90 minutes and from Los Rodeos 35 minutes. Contact us if you want to book a transfer from the airport.

Time & Date of Arrival

We advise you to plan your trip so that you do not arrive too late for the moving-in procedures, pick up of keys, etc. We recommend that you arrive in around noon or in the early afternoon. If you arrive in the evening:

1. Notify Insted well in advance

2. If you arrive by transfer or taxi tell the driver that he will need to stop at one place to get the keys and a map before taking you to your accommodation.
