Location

Insted’s educational partner BLS is located close to the town centre in Biarritz (20 minutes by foot, 10 minutes by bike) and is situated in a modern and spacious building.

Course description

From the very first lesson onwards, all teaching is conducted in French. This applies to all levels including absolute beginners. We believe it is essential for you to develop an ear for French as quickly as possible, and for those with more experience it will be a reintroduction. All the courses are structured yet there is an element of flexibility to allow everyone to develop at their own level and pace.

 

Our courses will improve your ability to express yourself and to understand French:

    •    written comprehension
    •    oral comprehension
    •    written skills
    •    oral skills

Methodology

A variety or methods are used to improve the following areas:
    • conversation skills
    • pronunciation
    • vocabulary
    • grammar
    • linguistic structure

 

Communicative and active approach using the CECR methods:
    •    language situations favoring non-artificial communication
    •    group dynamics
    •    respect of individuality
    •    interactivity
    •    convergence of language skills (i.e. grammatical, lexical and phonetical)


A wide range of materials  are used:
    •    manuals
    •    authentic and didactic materials
    •    grammar and lexical documents
    •    audio and dvd/video materials
    •    internet

 

Teachers

All our teachers have successfully graduated university with their Diplôme de Français Langue Etrangère and are therefore qualified to teach French to foreigners. They are all native French speakers and many of them have also lived and taught French abroad and speak other languages as well, which can be an advantage to students of various nationalities. 



Educational partner

BLS is a member of SOUFFLE and IALC. SOUFFLE is a quality control organisation for French language schools and universities in France. The 18 members of SOUFFLE all adhere to a strict Quality Charter and undergo regular inspections to guarantee the best quality assurance for French language learning, whether aimed at beginners, intermediates, teachers, young people or mature students.

Attestations

After completing your course you will receive an attestation listing your oral and written grades. All grades are given on a scale of 0-20 where a 10 means you have passed. Your attendance and participation in class is also mentioned and taken into consideration.
