SKIING IN THE ARLBERG REGION

St. Anton is one of the best and most famous ski resorts in the world. The Arlberg region and ski area is known for its powder snow and stable weather conditions.

IN 1901 THE WORLD'S FIRST Alpine ski club was founded in St. Anton. Today Ski-Club Arlberg has 5300 members, who make sure that their ski area is maintained and updated to constantly offer world-class skiing for locals and tourists. The same commitment and passion for skiing is found among the inhabitants of St. Anton who live by and live for skiing. Before the Alpine World Cup in 2001 a number of new lifts and runs were constructed, which significantly increased the quality and availability of the skiing.

St. Anton is a meeting point for all sorts of skiers and snowboarders; for extreme freeriders, jibbers and speed-searching carving skiers. Most of the pistes are wide and perfect for fast and deep carving turns and the off-piste skiing is among the best in the Alps.

THE SNOW CONDITIONS IN ST. ANTON are dependable and consistent during the winter season due to the high altitude of the village and the ski area. St. Anton is situated 1304 metres above sea level and you can ski from an altitude of 2811 metres.

SKI ARLBERG HAS 83 LIFTS,
about 275 kilometres of groomed trails and 180 kilometres of marked unprepared trails. The ski pass is valid in a number of ski areas adjacent to the surrounding villages of Lech, Zürs, St Christoph, Stuben, St. Anton and St. Jakob. Don't miss Gampen/Kapall with some of the best carving runs in the Alps.

STUBEN gets a lot of powder and is surprisingly empty of people considering the great possibilities for amazing off-piste skiing down to the village. Also try the classic off-piste run down to Langen.

GALZIG AND VALLUGA offer varied skiing. If you are looking for advanced trails or moguls you should try to go down from the Valluga peak. From Galzig you can practice your skills on the moguls or your wide turns in the blue runs.

RENDL If you ski at the Rendl side you will most surely get a nice sun tan and should definitely try skiing in the forest here. In this area you have a greater chance to be on your own on the slopes as it is more quiet and attracts less people.
