The semester course in St.Anton
is 13 weeks long and the teaching is done entirely
in German. The teachers use a wide spectre of
pedagogical
tools in the learning process, from contemporary
media to classic literature, where active participation
from the students is required.
TEACHING
METHOD - INTERMEDIATE LEVEL. The
teaching techniques used for this level are; practice
in oral and visual comprehension: in-depth grammar
work; exercises using synonyms, idioms and word
construction techniques in order to expand the
students’ vocabulary; style exercises; conversation;
short compositions.
TEACHING METHOD - ADVANCED
LEVEL. The teaching
techniques applied for the advanced level are
the following; emphasis on more complex grammatical
problems; expansion of the students’ vocabulary
through the use of synonyms, word construction
and phraseology; reading of newspapers, literary
texts etc; conversation and discussion of materials;
independent composition writing.
