HOW TO GET TO SAN SEBASTIÁN

BY AIR. There are two airports with international flights located close to San Sebastián - Biarritz and Bilbao. Low cost airlines such as Easyjet and Ryanair fly to these destinations and buses run frequently from both airports to San Sebastián. There is also a small airport in San Sebastián which is used for national flights to Madrid and Barcelona.

BY BUS. There are regular international bus lines to and from Hamburg, London, Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris and Geneva among other cities. ALSA and Eurolines are two of the companies that run these lines.

BY TRAIN. San Sebastián lies on the Paris-Madrid line. The fast train TGV (5 ½ hours) stops at the French-Spanish border (at Hendaye/Irun), 19 kms away. The timetable may change depending on the dates, but there are at least 10 trains a day. Check SNCF, the French national rail services for more info.
